As you can imagine, the licensing change to core-based licensing is quite literally a "million dollar" decision for us as we continue to roll out new Production hypervisors and SQL virtual servers.
Thus far, we've been able to find retail copies of SQL as we build out new servers, but I assume as some point the retail supply of Ent Per-Proc licenses will be exhausted. However, since Microsoft no longer offers upgrade "discounts" for SQL Server, If you bought a perpetual VLK license of without software assurance , you have to pay full price for if you want to upgrade. This would mean that there is a large population of SQL volume licenses that are basically used, right?

The problem is that their are over 15 different Intel configuarations on my machine with a single hard drive.
The system fails to acknowledge the configuration changes as a single operating system. I plan on coming to the Evergreen State to update the platform models and software for the server.
In the mean-time I have completely had to suspend corporate spending. I believe that the network ID of such platform models are not understood to the full extent for streaming servers for multiple key and product codes. I will attempt to check for a response and further intrustion from the parent. Dannol, This question is difficult to answer because I have been wondering the same question with my volume license. I know it is based on the software associated with the virtual system and points assigned to each user account resold on an edified basis.
Depending on the product key or keys associated with your software. There are complication with the MSN system recognizing one product key and user accounts affiliated with that product key.
