In situations like that - I always try to look for something simple yet fun kids can do. Catch a balloon in a funnel Crazy fun! Vanillajoy 2. Make balloon rockets. Pagingfunmums 3. This game is great for either dividing the kids into teams or pairing them up. The idea is that you play similar to tennis. The balloon is hit and the kids try and hit it back without it dropping on the floor in their area.
If it drops, the other child or team wins a point. The first to reach say 10 points is the winner. The children can either be given something to use as a bat like a paper plate or they can simply use their hands.
Need to make the balloon tennis a bit more difficult? The eaiest way to do this is to not allow the kids to use their hands! So they need to be creative. They can use their legs, arms, head or back.
Anything to keep that balloon in the air and back to the other side. Each of the kids are given a balloon which is laid on the floor.
The kids have to blow the balloon to the finish line. This could be as simple as blowing it straight or you could create an obstacle course for the kids to navigate on the way. Make sets of balloons according to the number of teams you have. So W on one balloon, I on another balloon, N on another balloon etc.
The aim of the game is for the kids to find all the letters to spell out the word. The first team to spell their word is the winner. Each of the kids are given a something to catch balloons in. This could be popcorn holders, or party cups. Something that is wide enough for the balloon to sit into. Before the party starts fix a cover just under the ceiling and cover it with balloons.
The cover could be as simple as a plastic tablecloth. The first team to have all of its balloons behind the finish line wins. Place stakes in the ground so that they are a few feet apart from one another.
Assign a point value to each stake by writing the number on an inflated balloon and tying it to the top of the stake. Score points according to the values indicated on the stakes they manage to ring. Feed the tied ends of inflated balloons through the holes in a sheet of pegboard and secure them on the other side. Mount the balloon board. Have kids stand behind a line and throw three darts each at the balloons. Award points for each balloon a player pops with the darts.
Have kids gather and pass a balloon around as they dance to the music. When the music stops, the player holding the balloon must call out the name of another player and toss the balloon in the air. The player whose name was called must try and catch the balloon before it hits the floor.
If he fails, he is out of the game. Play continues for several rounds or until all, but one player has been eliminated. Before the party, insert small pieces of candy into balloons before inflating them. Consider non-candy items for health reasons as well. Hide the balloons around the party space.
Divide the kids into teams. Send them out to find as many balloons as they can in a set amount of time. When they find a balloon, they must pop it and collect the piece of candy from inside. Once time is up, the team with the most candy wins. Blow up several balloons and place them on the floor.
Set a timer for one minute. Send the first player into the balloon pile to try and collect as many as they can in one trip. Hidden Numbers - Up Flash.
