The two options at this particular shop is either Suntek or Rayno. Based on my research- I believe I'm going to choose the Suntek brand and ceramic over carbon. I would welcome any suggestions. Thanks all. Appreciate 0. Major General. Suntek or Llumar are my go to tint brands with our course their ceramic for better heat rejection. Appreciate 1.
MarkCav My tint was done at an independent shop that does all the dealer's BMW's. I have also seen Maserati's and perhaps one Lamborghini at this shop.
The fronts and windshield were Johnsons. I do not remember about the sunroof. This price is lower than the one charger by the dealer's company that specializes in tint and various electronics like doing a radar detector install. It certainly looks like my windows match as seen below:. Attached Images.

Matches the rears perfectly. I've had the same tint on my past 10 cars. Last edited by tonybeam; at PM.. Reason: Added Photo. Originally Posted by tonybeam. Enlisted Member.

On the other hand, aftermarket tinting film may be removed from the glass by utilizing peeling tools and solvents to break down the adhesive layer. Factory tinted windows are tinted prior to leaving the assembly line by applying a specific tinting treatment to the glass. Aftermarket tint is placed on the windows as a seamless film, after the car has been sold to the consumer.
When compared to factory tint, aftermarket tint offers several added benefits to both the driver and the vehicle. You may want to locate a window tinting professional to apply the aftermarket tints as they will know how to adjust for the inherent color of the glass.
Aftermarket tint may be simply replaced with a different tint film by removing the old tint and installing a new film. There are also invisible coatings that serve to prevent UV radiation and warmth while barely tinting the windows.
If you really want to get fancy, you can also look into electric window tint. Aftermarket tinting is an inexpensive option for car owners to improve the appearance of their vehicles while enhancing their comfort. Just roll down your window halfway and use the tint meter to measure the film. This is also the approach used by law enforcement to determine the tint grade on automobile windows.
While this tint does screen some visible light, it does not offer the same amount of UV protection as an aftermarket tint film. The information regarding window tinting laws contained on this website should by no means be used as legal advice.

It is ultimately your final say as to what the best course of action is for your circumstances. Be sure not to over-spray onto door trim, as applicant can be difficult to clean off. On the exterior glass, use the scraper to remove dirt and debris from your window, and then use the squeegee to clean off any remaining grime. Next, apply application solution to the window exteriors. Roll your windows down a quarter inch to cover the extra glass, and carefully fit the film and use your razor blade to cut it to size.
Carefully remove the backing from the film and apply it in a rolling motion down the window glass, applying applicator to the adhesive part of the film as you remove the backing. Fold the bottom edge back onto itself to avoid touching your door trim. Push extra air and water out from under the film using your squeegee wrapped in a microfiber cloth.
