If you need to add a user to a non-domain system you would use lusrmgr. You can give it the needed permissions. If you need for it to work, I would suggest creating a child domain or even an entirely different forest and then create a trust relationship with the appropriate permissions. I set the workgroup to be the exact same name as the domain, and created a user with the same credentials.
I think this might have a chance of working if the computer name were the same as the domain, but that's impossible in this case. It is probably stillt rying to present domain credentials when you login via rdp. To continue this discussion, please ask a new question.
